The journey of this recording spanned three months, a trip to a mental institution for Catullus, and lots of self destruction of the chemical and physical varieties. The drum tracks on parts III and IV were performed using human remains, and the drones are a Qlippothic pathworking of spiritual metamorphosis through the Tunnels of Set. Few performances are executed with macabre and occult intensity as Church ov Melkarth's Varkolak.
lyrics
Part I
My axe is dull
my armor has rusted
I am so very weary
When my time has come, give me no funeral
Remember not my name
Speak not of my deeds
Cast my ashes to the wind
I shall not be another martyr
Let my name rest with the dead
Part II
I am one with the earth
the soil seeps in around me
filling my mouth, I can not cry out
As I claw my way through the ground
If I wished for death, they why do I try to live
All I hear is the waking bells
All I feel is Hunger
As my flesh peels away, I feel myself merging with the land
I am the wind through the trees
The stone of the mountains fills my spine
The earth no longer fights: WE ARE ONE
I am one with the land
I see all; I feel all
I am thy voivode
When I was a child, they spoke of what I have become
They called it the Koldun, and I did not believe
Now as I have awakened, I believe, and I have a thirst for blood
Part III
In my death, I was given sight
Through the mark of the devil, was I given life
I am thy voivode
Voivode Varkolak; plague of the night
To feast on the blood of the weak
and pull their temples down!
This land shall walk with no living gods!
Fear is my armor, hate is my strength
Not living, Not dead, not dreaming, not dying:
We forever are!
The blood is the life; my shadow is death
and it was those that cursed me, who brought forth life
I am the poison in your wine
I am the plague of a thousand rats
I am the mist in the dead dead of night
the dancing shadows, behind your back
I am thy Voivode, Voivode Varkolak
